Raewyn re-entered the legal profession in March 2019 with Wackrow Williams & Davies and has continued on in her role as Associate in Wackrow Panoho & Associates. Raewyn has a diverse practice for private clients as well as whānau/hapū and iwi.  This well-rounded practice means she is able to give well-informed, comprehensive and practical advice to her clients.  

In particular, Raewyn’s private law practice is centered on serving her clients in the areas of property law including transactions from residential to more complex commercial property transactions, leases and subdivisions; trusts and incorporations including private and charitable trusts and incorporated societies; wills and estates including drafting wills, obtaining probate and letters of administration, succession and administration of estates; business including employment contracts, sale and purchase of small businesses, shareholders agreements and relationship property matters.

Raewyn also has extensive experience acting for whānau and hapū claims in the Waitangi Tribunal across both historical, urgent and kaupapa inquiries.  In the historical inquiry area, she has appeared as counsel in the Urewera, Central North Island and North Eastern Bay of Plenty Inquiries.  She has also acted in urgent inquiries including the Maniapoto Mandate inquiry , Marine and Coastal Area Act inquiry, and the North Eastern Bay of Plenty Priority Hearing on mandate issues.  In the kaupapa inquiry space, she is involved in Health and Mana Wāhine.  She is able to assist with all aspects of managing a claim through the Tribunal from Statement of Claim, the research, pre-hearing and interlocutory phase as well as preparation and presentation of evidence, submissions and cross examination.   She has also appeared as Counsel in the Māori Land Court on a number of occasions, acting for both trustees and beneficiaries.  She is familiar with all aspects of Te Ture Whenua Māori 1993 and can advise accordingly.

Raewyn is a passionate tangata tiriti and considers it a privilege to assist iwi and hapū to achieve positive outcomes for themselves, their whānau and hapū.  Her goal is to serve her Māori clients in a compassionate, culturally safe and highly effective way in order to achieve the best outcomes possible for them.   

 

Outside of work, Raewyn has a busy family life as Mum to three primary school age kids, she is a parent-elect to her local primary school board of Trustees and is a committed ākonga at her bi-weekly Te Reo lessons.
